Cues and beat grid
Cues are placed and moved in the Edit view only. The Crates deck and the set planner show them but do not edit them.
| Key | Adds |
|---|---|
| C | A hot cue (A to H) at the cursor |
| M | A memory cue at the cursor |
| ⇧M | A memory loop of a bar at the cursor |
A cue has a name, a colour and, for loops, an end. When a cue is picked, the clip row shows its name field, Loop, Colour, Duplicate, Copy, Cut, Paste and Delete. Cues reach Rekordbox only through Sync.
Fix a beat grid
Section titled “Fix a beat grid”Which grid a track uses is the first source in your order that has one (see Settings, BPM & grid). To correct one:
- Press Edit grid (⇧G).
- Fix the tempo: drag or type in its box, or use ÷2 and ×2. Nudge the grid earlier or later (⇧ for bigger steps), or press Grid here (G) to make the cursor the start of a bar. The metronome turns on and the grid is drawn strongly.
- Press Save grid (⇧G again, or ↵). Esc or Cancel throws the change away.
While you are in Edit grid, the loop and effect tools are dimmed.
If the grid comes from Rekordbox, a line shows how far the drum hits sit from it, for example “Source: Rekordbox · 12 ms early”. It is a readout; Selector Studio does not apply it.
For a track that could be counted at half or double time, Edit grid offers the choice for that track, but only on tracks it applies to. Everything else is worked out for you; see Half or double time in Settings.
Metronome
Section titled “Metronome”K turns the metronome on or off wherever a metronome switch shows. On the Crates deck K is Keep during a review, and there is no metronome.
Edit tempo
Section titled “Edit tempo”The BPM box in the transport plays the whole edit faster or slower with the key kept. Drag it, press − or +, or type. A click without moving types a number. It is separate from the grid’s tempo in Edit grid, which corrects where the beats are.
